- Olive oil or cooking spray
Instructions
- Pit the dates if they are not already pitted.
- Let the goat cheese sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to soften.
- Fill each pitted date with a small spoonful of softened goat cheese.
- Season the filling with freshly ground black pepper and optional red pepper flakes if desired.
- Wrap each stuffed date with a half slice of bacon, securing it with a toothpick if necessary.
- Drizzle with honey and sprinkle thyme leaves for garnish if using.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and arrange the wrapped dates on a baking sheet, lightly coated with olive oil or cooking spray.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until the bacon is crispy.
