Description

Baked Broccoli Cheese Balls are a delicious and nutritious snack or side dish made with fresh broccoli, cheddar, and Parmesan cheese, all baked to golden perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups broccoli florets, finely chopped
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs for binding
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs for binding
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour for binding
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder for seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder for seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray for greasing the baking sheet

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Steam the broccoli florets until tender-crisp, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the chopped broccoli, breadcrumbs, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, eggs, and flour. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper, and mix well.
  4. Shape the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown, optionally broiling for an additional 1-2 minutes for extra crispiness.

Notes

  • Don’t overcook the broccoli to maintain texture.
  • Chill the mixture if it’s too sticky to handle.
  • Experiment with different cheeses for unique flavors.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
  • Best enjoyed warm for optimal texture.
