  • For the Balsamic Marinade/Dressing:
    • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
    • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
    • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
    • 1 teaspoon honey
    • 1 large clove garlic, minced or grated
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • For the Steak Caprese:
    • 2 pounds flank steak
    • 2 cups cherry or grape tomatoes
    • 1 cup buffalo or fresh mozzarella, diced
    • 2 tablespoons basil, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Marinate the flank steak by mixing balsamic vinegar, olive oil, Dijon mustard, honey, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  2. Prepare the Caprese salad by rinsing and halving the cherry tomatoes, and slicing the mozzarella and basil.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and grill the flank steak for 3-5 minutes on each side.
  4. Let the steak rest for 5 minutes, then slice it thinly against the grain.
  5. Assemble the dish by layering the sliced steak, grilled tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil on a serving platter, drizzling with the remaining balsamic marinade.
