Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 cup water
- 1 bag tortilla chips
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 jalapeño, sliced
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing for 2-3 minutes until the onion is translucent.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in the taco seasoning and water, mixing well. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). On a large baking sheet, spread out the tortilla chips in an even layer.
- Top the chips with the seasoned beef mixture, black beans, and shredded cheddar cheese. Add sliced jalapeños on top for an extra kick.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and top with diced tomatoes, sour cream, and fresh cilantro before serving.
Notes
- Feel free to customize toppings based on your preference.
- For a spicier version, add more jalapeños or use pepper jack cheese.
- Can be served as an appetizer or a main dish.
