Description

A delicious twist on a classic, combining fresh greens, juicy chicken, crispy bacon, and a flavorful dressing.


Ingredients

  • 2 hearts of romaine, sliced
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/4 small red onion (optional)
  • 6 strips bacon, chopped
  • 1 lb chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 4 teaspoons whole grain mustard
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 french baguette or other bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the base by distributing romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, and red onion evenly on plates.
  2. Make croutons by melting butter in a skillet, adding bread cubes, and toasting until golden brown.
  3. Cook bacon in the same skillet until crispy; drain excess fat.
  4. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper; cook in the skillet until no longer pink inside. Let rest before slicing.
  5. Prepare dressing by whisking together mayonnaise, maple syrup, mustard, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  6. Assemble the salad by topping greens with croutons, bacon, sliced chicken, and drizzling with dressing.
