Description
A quick and easy guide to preparing freezer-friendly breakfast sandwiches that are delicious and convenient for busy mornings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tsp Italian blend herbs
- 1 tsp powdered garlic
- 1 lb mild breakfast sausage, ground
- ½ tsp crushed chili flakes
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tbsp light brown sugar
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp white ground pepper
- ¼ cup milk (optional, gives fluffiness)
- 1 tsp salt
- 12 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 6 slices of your favorite cheese
- 6 English muffins
- Maple syrup (if desired)
Instructions
- Whisk the eggs together with milk and seasonings.
- Line a 33×23-cm (13×9-inch) baking pan with parchment and grease it.
- Pour the egg mixture into the pan and bake for 20 minutes at 175°C (350°F).
- Mix sausage, beef, and seasonings thoroughly.
- Shape into 140–170-gram (5–6-ounce) patties, making them larger than the muffins to account for shrinkage during cooking.
- Fry the patties in a hot, oiled skillet for 5–6 minutes per side.
- Spread melted butter on the muffins and toast them.
- Add maple syrup if desired.
- Assemble the sandwiches with the toasted muffins, cheese, butter, and sausage patties.
- Wrap the finished sandwiches in parchment or plastic wrap, then seal them in a ziplock bag for freezing.
Notes
- Using milk in the egg mixture will make the eggs fluffier.
- Feel free to substitute the sausage and cheese based on dietary preferences.
- These sandwiches can be customized with additional toppings like avocado or spinach.
- Ensure to store the sandwiches properly to maintain freshness in the freezer.
