- 200 g peeled, finely chopped apples (Honeycrisp or Fuji)
- 120 g brown sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 egg
- 80 ml milk
- ½ tsp cinnamon + extra for coating
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 60 g powdered sugar (for glaze and dusting)
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix milk, egg, and 1 tbsp sugar until smooth.
- Combine both mixtures and fold in chopped apples.
- Heat oil (175 °C) and fry spoonfuls of batter for 2–3 minutes per side until golden. Drain on paper towels.
- Roll warm fritters in cinnamon sugar.
- For glaze: simmer brown sugar, butter, and 60 ml milk for 1 minute. Remove from heat, whisk in powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.
- Drizzle glaze over fritters and serve warm.
