Description

Classic Italian Caprese with a Pasta Twist

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked pasta (penne, fusilli, or bowtie)
  • 1 ½ cups cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini or ciliegine), halved
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, torn
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
Optional: 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (for an extra tangy note)

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain, rinse under cold water, and let cool completely.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cooled pasta, cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, balsamic glaze, and Dijon mustard (if using). Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss until well coated.
  5. Chill for 15–30 minutes before serving. Drizzle with extra balsamic glaze and sprinkle with fresh basil before serving.
