A simplified and delicious take on the classic cheesesteak, this homemade hamburger helper is a hearty one-pot meal that combines ground beef with pasta, cheese, and flavorful seasonings.

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 chopped onion
- 1 chopped green bell pepper
- 1 tsp steak seasoning
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- 2 TBSP A1 Steak Sauce
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 8 oz can of tomato sauce
- 2 1/2 cups spiral pasta
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add chopped onion and chopped green bell pepper.
- Drain grease and add steak seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and oregano.
- Add beef broth, A1 Steak Sauce, tomato sauce, milk, and pasta. The pasta goes in the skillet uncooked and will cook in the beef broth and milk.
- Stir well and bring to a simmer. Cover with a lid and lower the heat to low.
- Cook covered for 10-15 minutes.
- Stir in 1 cup of shredded mozzarella and then top with the remaining cup of cheese. Cover with the lid until the cheese is melted.
- Serve and enjoy!
Notes
- For a spicier version, add some diced jalapeños or crushed red pepper flakes.
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
- Feel free to add other vegetables like mushrooms or spinach for added nutrition.
