Description
Church Lady Butter Toffee Pretzels are a sweet and salty snack that combines the crunchiness of pretzels with a rich, buttery toffee coating.
Ingredients
Scale
- 16 ounces mini pretzel twists
- 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup salted butter, sliced into pats
- 5 tablespoons light corn syrup
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Spread the mini pretzel twists evenly on the prepared baking sheet.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the light brown sugar, salted butter, and light corn syrup. Stir continuously until the mixture comes to a boil.
- Allow the mixture to boil for 3–4 minutes without stirring, then immediately pour it evenly over the pretzels on the baking sheet.
- Using a spatula, gently toss the pretzels to coat them thoroughly with the toffee mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10–15 minutes, stirring halfway through to ensure even coating and toffee coverage.
- Remove from oven and let the pretzels cool completely on the baking sheet; the toffee will harden as it cools.
- Once cooled and hardened, break apart any clusters and serve or store in an airtight container.
Notes
- Ensure to stir the toffee mixture continuously until it boils to prevent burning.
- For a twist, you can sprinkle chocolate chips or nuts on top before the toffee hardens.
- Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
