Description

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp cotton candy flavoring
  • Optional: food coloring and sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set this dry mixture aside.
  3. In another bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy—about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the egg and cotton candy flavoring to the butter mixture. Optionally, add a few drops of food coloring.
  5. If using sprinkles, fold them in gently.
  6. Scoop tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
  7. Bake for about 10-12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden but the centers are still soft.
  8. Cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
