- 4 medium apples
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon cotton candy flavoring
- Food coloring (pink and blue)
- Wooden sticks for dipping
Instructions
- Wash and dry the apples, then insert a wooden stick into the top of each apple.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water, and bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- Once the mixture reaches a hard crack stage (300°F), remove from heat and quickly stir in vanilla and cotton candy flavoring.
- Divide the candy mixture into two bowls and add pink food coloring to one and blue to the other.
- Dip each apple first into the pink mixture then into the blue mixture to create a swirl effect.
- Place the dipped apples on a parchment-lined baking sheet to cool and harden.
