Description

Deliciously crispy mozzarella cheese sticks served with marinara sauce and a creamy dip, perfect for appetizers or snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 mozzarella string cheese sticks
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs (optional for extra crunch)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)
  • 1/2 cup creamy dip (ranch, garlic aioli, or dip of choice)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the mozzarella sticks by unwrapping and patting them dry. Freeze for 30 minutes.
  2. Set up a breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs. Coat each stick in flour, dip in egg, and roll in breadcrumbs.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry the sticks in batches for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Prepare the marinara sauce by warming store-bought or making from scratch with sautéed garlic, crushed tomatoes, and seasonings.
  5. Mix the creamy dip ingredients or use store-bought. Serve with the fried mozzarella sticks.

Notes

  • Ensure the mozzarella sticks are well-coated for better crunch.
  • Freeze the sticks well before frying to maintain their shape.
  • Use a thermometer to maintain the frying oil temperature.
  • Feel free to customize the creamy dip to your taste.
