Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs (900g) sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional)
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 cup sliced bell peppers or onions (optional)
- Fresh herbs like parsley or thyme (optional)
Instructions
- Cut the sirloin steak into bite-sized cubes.
- In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Add the steak cubes to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
- Transfer the marinated steak and marinade to the crockpot. Add any optional ingredients like bell peppers or onions.
- Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- Check for tenderness before serving. Let the steak bites rest for about 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Don’t rush the marination; longer marination enhances flavor.
- Adjust cooking time based on your crockpot’s performance.
- For a thicker sauce, remove the lid during the last hour of cooking.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
