Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh dandelion leaves (wash thoroughly)
  • 1 tbsp dried dandelion roots (optional, for a richer flavor)
  • 4 cups water
  • Honey or sweetener of choice (to taste, optional)
  • Lemon slices (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Inspect the dandelion leaves for any debris and rinse them well under cool water.
  2. If using dandelion roots, wash and chop them into small pieces.
  3. In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
  4. Add the fresh dandelion leaves and dried roots to the boiling water.
  5. Reduce heat and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes, until the water takes on a rich, golden hue.
  6. Strain the tea into a cup, discarding leaves and roots.
  7. Sweeten with honey or another preferred sweetener, adjusting to taste.
  8. Garnish with a slice of lemon for a refreshing twist.
