Description

This Easy Chinese Ground Beef and Cabbage Stir Fry is a quick and flavorful meal that combines savory ground beef and tender cabbage, perfect for an easy weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 cups cabbage, shredded
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chili paste (optional, for heat)
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat sesame oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
  3. Once the beef is browned, add the minced garlic and ginger. Stir-fry for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the shredded cabbage and stir well, cooking until the cabbage is tender, about 4-5 minutes.
  5. Stir in the soy sauce, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, chili paste (if using), and sugar. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
  8. Serve hot with rice or noodles, or enjoy as-is for a low-carb option.

Notes

  • Adjust the level of chili paste based on your heat preference.
  • Can serve over steamed rice or noodles for a heartier meal.
  • Stir fry can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
