  • 4 whole-wheat or regular English muffins
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)

For the Pizza Sauce

  • 1 cup marinara or pizza sauce
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Toppings

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni (halal version or vegetarian alternative)
  • ½ cup sliced bell peppers (any color)
  • ½ cup sliced mushrooms
  • ½ small red onion, thinly sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves (optional)

Optional Toppings

  • Sliced olives
  • Fresh tomatoes
  • Cooked chicken or turkey sausage
  • Pineapple chunks
  • Jalapeños or chili flakes

Garnish (Optional)

  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Drizzle of olive oil

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat & Prepare the Muffins

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Slice the English muffins in half, creating 6–8 individual pizza bases.
  • Place cut-side up on a baking sheet.
  • Brush with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder (optional).
  • Toast in the oven for 4–5 minutes until golden and crisp.

Step 2: Mix the Sauce

  • In a bowl, combine:
    • 1 cup marinara or pizza sauce
    • 1 tsp oregano
    • 1 tsp basil
    • Red pepper flakes (optional)
    • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Stir well and adjust to your flavor preference.

Step 3: Assemble the Pizzas

  • Spread a spoonful of sauce on each toasted muffin half.
  • Add a layer of mozzarella cheese, followed by a sprinkle of Parmesan.
  • Add your desired toppings: pepperoni, veggies, mushrooms, etc.

Step 4: Bake

  • Bake pizzas for 8–10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly and edges are crisp.
  • Watch closely in the last minute or two to avoid overbrowning.

Step 5: Garnish & Serve

  • Top with fresh basil and a drizzle of olive oil, if desired.
  • Slice for smaller bites or serve whole.
  • Enjoy while warm and gooey!

Notes

  • Crispy Tip: Toasting the muffin bases before adding toppings keeps them from getting soggy.
  • Healthier Option: Use whole wheat English muffins, light cheese, and load up on veggies.
  • Make It Vegan: Use dairy-free cheese and plant-based toppings like roasted veggies and vegan sausage.
  • Kid-Friendly Hack: Set up a “pizza bar” with toppings so kids can customize their own!
