Scale
  • 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 4 cups yellow onions, thinly sliced
  • 6 slices bacon, chopped

  • 2 eggs
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp caraway seeds (optional, traditional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. In a skillet, cook bacon until crisp. Remove and set aside, leaving drippings.
  3. Add onions to the pan and cook on low until soft and golden, about 15–20 min.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together sour cream, eggs, salt, pepper, and caraway seeds.
  5. Spread onions and bacon over the crust in a 9-inch pie dish.
  6. Pour custard mix on top.
  7. Bake 35–40 min until set and golden. Cool slightly before slicing.
