Create a stunning glow with this easy and fun glowing fireworks in a jar project!
Ingredients

- 1 clear glass or plastic jar with lid
- Warm water (enough to fill ¾ of the jar)
- 2–3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Glow-in-the-dark paint (washable, non-toxic recommended)
- Food coloring (optional, for added color bursts)
- Fork or toothpick (for mixing)
- Small bowl
Instructions
- Pour warm water into the jar until it’s about ¾ full.
- In a small bowl, add 2–3 tablespoons of vegetable oil.
- Drop in small amounts of glow-in-the-dark paint and food coloring (if using).
- Stir gently with a fork or toothpick—don’t overmix!
- Slowly pour the oil and paint mixture into the jar of warm water.
- Wait a few moments and watch as the colorful droplets float, fall, and “burst” like glowing fireworks!
- Turn off the lights to enjoy the glow!
- Charge the glow paint under a lamp or expose the jar to blacklight to intensify the effect.
Notes
- Use different glow paint colors to simulate a full fireworks display.
- Add glitter or tiny glow stars for extra sparkle.
- Try layering colors by pouring in different mixes one at a time.
