Description
Grilled Pesto Turkey Burgers are a delicious and juicy alternative to traditional beef burgers, infused with the vibrant flavors of basil pesto and garlic.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb Ground turkey (93% lean recommended for juiciness)
- 1/2 cup Basil pesto (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Black pepper
- Optional: 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese or breadcrumbs (for binding)
- 4 Burger buns (brioche, whole wheat, or gluten-free)
- Toppings: lettuce, tomato, red onion, mozzarella, avocado, mayo, extra pesto
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, pesto, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined—don’t overwork.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties. If mixture is too wet, add a tablespoon of breadcrumbs or grated parmesan.
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat (about 375-400°F).
- Oil the grill grates and place the patties on the grill. Cook for 5-6 minutes per side, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- During the last minute of grilling, toast the buns and add cheese if using.
- Assemble the burgers with your favorite toppings and a spoonful of extra pesto if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, consider adding red pepper flakes to the turkey mixture.
- These burgers can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before grilling.
- Feel free to customize toppings based on personal preference.
