Ingredients
Scale
- 432 g white cake mix
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 80 ml vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Green gel food coloring, as needed
- 90 g powdered sugar
- 32 g cornstarch
- Candy heart sprinkles for decoration
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, blend the cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract on medium-low speed until homogeneous.
- Gradually incorporate green gel food coloring, mixing thoroughly until the desired vivid green hue is achieved.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate the dough for at least 20 minutes to firm up.
- Preheat the oven to 175°C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and cornstarch until evenly combined.
- Portion out 1.5-tablespoon (approximately 35 g) scoops of dough. Roll each between your palms to form smooth balls.
- Roll each dough ball in the powdered sugar mixture, then arrange on the prepared tray, spacing about 5 cm apart.
- Gently flatten each ball with your hand or a flat utensil, then press a candy heart into the center of each cookie.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes until the edges are just beginning to turn golden and the tops are no longer glossy.
- Remove from the oven and allow to rest on the tray for 3 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Ensure that the eggs are at room temperature for better mixing.
- You can adjust the amount of green gel food coloring to achieve your desired shade.
