Description

This Hearty Ground Beef and Potato Skillet is the perfect one-pan meal for busy weeknights! Savory ground beef, tender potatoes, and aromatic spices come together in a flavorful dish that’s comforting and easy to make. A touch of Worcestershire sauce enhances the depth of flavor, while a sprinkle of fresh parsley adds the perfect finishing touch. Serve it on its own or pair it with a side of crusty bread for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, diced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing for 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  • Stir in the diced potatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  • Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and let it simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender, stirring occasionally.
  • Once the potatoes are cooked through, taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, swap beef broth with a mix of broth and a splash of heavy cream.
  • Want extra crispiness? After cooking, remove the lid and let the potatoes brown for 5 extra minutes.
  • Try adding shredded cheese on top for a cheesy twist.
