Description

Delicious Hawaiian turkey burger sliders topped with teriyaki sauce, grilled bell peppers, and pineapple.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 pounds ground turkey
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, minced
  • 1/3 cup green onions, sliced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups Soy Vay® Teriyaki Sauce
  • 12 cups bell peppers
  • 68 slices cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or Pepper Jack)
  • 1 pineapple, sliced
  • 8 slider buns

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground turkey, minced jalapeño, and sliced green onions. Mix with a spoon and form into small patties. Set aside on a plate.
  2. Preheat the grill to high heat. Add the whole bell peppers and roast on each side for about 30 seconds or until grill marks appear. Remove to a cutting board, allow to rest for a minute, and slice.
  3. Using a paper towel dipped in oil, rub the grates of the grill. Reduce the grill heat to medium-high.
  4. Sprinkle a small amount of salt and pepper on each side of the patties. Place patties on the grill and immediately lower the heat to medium. Cook for 5 minutes. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 5-6 minutes.
  5. While the patties are cooking, add the pineapple slices to the grill. Flip after 2 minutes or once grill marks appear. Remove from the grill and set aside.
  6. During the last minute of cooking the patties, top each burger with a spoonful of teriyaki sauce and a slice of cheese. Allow the cheese to melt.
  7. Place the slider buns cut side down on the grill for 1-2 minutes or until warmed. Remove and set aside.
  8. Place the cooked turkey burger on the bottom half of the bun. Layer with grilled peppers, pineapple, and an additional drizzle of teriyaki sauce. Top with the upper half of the bun and serve.

Notes

  • For a spicier flavor, add more jalapeño.
  • Use fresh pineapple for the best sweetness.
  • Feel free to customize the toppings according to your taste.
