Description
A delicious pizza topped with spicy sausage, creamy feta, and a drizzle of hot honey for a perfect balance of flavors.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb pizza dough, store-bought or homemade
- 2 tbsp olive oil, divided
- ½ lb hot Italian sausage, casings removed, cooked and crumbled
- 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup crumbled feta cheese
- ¼ cup hot honey (or regular honey plus pinch of chili flakes)
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Fresh parsley or basil, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 475°F. If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to preheat.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness for two medium pizzas.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it into crumbles. Drain excess fat.
- Transfer the rolled dough onto a pizza stone or baking sheet. Brush each crust lightly with olive oil.
- Evenly sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the dough, followed by the cooked sausage and crumbled feta.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
- Remove pizzas from the oven. Immediately drizzle hot honey generously over each pizza. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes if desired.
- Garnish with chopped fresh herbs. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For a milder option, use regular sausage instead of hot Italian sausage.
- Make sure to drain the sausage well to avoid a greasy pizza.
- Let the pizza cool slightly before slicing for cleaner cuts.
