Description

Kielbasa and Cabbage Foil Packs is a quick and tasty dinner option that combines flavorful kielbasa with fresh cabbage and potatoes, all cooked in foil for easy cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound kielbasa sausage, sliced into ½-inch rounds
  • 4 cups green cabbage, chopped
  • 2 medium potatoes, diced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill to medium heat or oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine sliced kielbasa, chopped cabbage, diced potatoes, sliced onion, and minced garlic. Drizzle olive oil over the mixture and sprinkle smoked paprika, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Toss until everything is evenly coated.
  3. Tear off four large sheets of heavy-duty aluminum foil. Divide the kielbasa and vegetable mixture evenly among the foil sheets, placing each portion in the center.
  4. Fold the foil over the mixture and seal the edges tightly to create individual packets.
  5. Place foil packs on the grill or on a baking sheet in the oven. Cook for 25-30 minutes, turning once halfway through if grilling, until potatoes are tender and kielbasa is heated through.
  6. Carefully open the foil packs (watch out for steam) and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Make sure to use heavy-duty aluminum foil for sturdy packets.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or carrots for added flavor.
  • Adjust seasonings according to your taste preference.
