Description
A quick and flavorful Korean Ground Beef Bowl that’s ready in just 25 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp sesame oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 4 green onions, chopped (whites and greens separated)
- 1/2 cup carrots, finely shredded
- 1/2 cup broccoli florets (steamed)
- 2 cups cooked jasmine rice (or rice of your choice)
- 1 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste) – adjust to taste
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Use a spatula to break it up, cooking until browned and cooked through (about 5-7 minutes). Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in the minced garlic, grated ginger, and the whites of the green onions. Cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Add soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and gochujang to the skillet. Mix well and let it simmer for 3-5 minutes until the sauce is well combined and slightly thickened. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
- Mix in the shredded carrots and steamed broccoli. Allow them to warm through for about 2 minutes.
- In serving bowls, place a generous scoop of cooked jasmine rice. Top with the Korean ground beef mixture.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds and the green part of the chopped green onions on top for a fresh crunch. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of gochujang based on your spice preference.
- Feel free to add more vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas.
