Description

A delicious and easy recipe for Lazy Chicken Parmesan Grilled Cheese.


Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread (sourdough or your preferred type)
  • 1 cup cooked chicken (shredded or sliced)
  • 4 slices mozzarella cheese (or 1 cup shredded mozzarella)
  • 1/4 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Spread softened butter on one side of each bread slice. Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese over the buttered side and press gently so it adheres.
  2. Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  3. Place one slice of bread (buttered side down) in the skillet. Add a slice of mozzarella cheese, a layer of shredded chicken, a spoonful of marinara sauce, and another slice of mozzarella cheese.
  4. Place a second slice of bread on top, buttered side facing up.
  5. Cook for 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown and crispy. Carefully flip the sandwich and toast the other side for another 3-4 minutes. Reduce heat if the bread browns too quickly.
  6. Press gently with a spatula to ensure the cheese melts evenly and binds the sandwich.
  7. Remove from the skillet and let the sandwich cool slightly. Slice in half and serve warm.
