A creamy and delicious recipe for mashed sweet potatoes that is perfect as a side dish.

- 2 pounds sweet potatoes (approximately 3 medium or 2 large)
- 4 tablespoons butter, cut into four pieces
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Salt & freshly ground pepper to season
Instructions
- Peel sweet potatoes and cut them into small pieces.
- Combine sweet potatoes, heavy cream, butter, sugar, and salt in a large saucepan.
- Cover the pan and cook over low heat for 35 to 45 minutes. The potatoes are done when they fall apart when poked with a fork.
- Take the pan off the heat and mash the potatoes with a potato masher.
- Season with salt and pepper.
Notes
- For a sweeter flavor, you can add more sugar to taste.
- Feel free to substitute the butter with a dairy-free alternative for a vegan option.
