- 1 pound (450 g) ground beef
- 1 small yellow onion, finely diced or grated
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup dried breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, parsley, black pepper, and salt. Mix until just combined.
- Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 2 tablespoons each, and place them on a lined baking sheet.
- In a saucepan, heat your favorite tomato sauce or crushed canned tomatoes with salt and pepper. Let it simmer.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat with oil. Cook the meatballs for 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally until browned and cooked through.
- Transfer the cooked meatballs to the simmering tomato sauce and let them cook together for an additional 5-10 minutes.
- Prepare rice according to package instructions. Serve the meatballs over rice, topped with sauce.
