Description
A delicious and flavorful burger featuring pepperoni, provolone cheese, and sautéed vegetables served on a brioche bun.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 slices of deli-style pepperoni
- 1 red onion, finely chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 ½ pounds of 80/20 ground chuck
- A pinch of salt, garlic powder, and pepper for seasoning
- ½ cup of mayonnaise
- Brioche buns (1 pack or 8 pieces)
- 2 tablespoons of garlic paste
- A can of pre-made pizza sauce
- 12 slices of provolone cheese
Instructions
- Shape the burger patties and pop them in the fridge for about 35 to 40 minutes.
- Stir the garlic paste into the mayo. Keep it on the side for later.
- Dice the red onions and green peppers. In a hot cast iron skillet, toss veggies with butter and a bit of salt. Keep stirring for around 8-10 minutes until soft, then set aside.
- Generously sprinkle your patties with pepper, garlic powder, and salt. Grill over direct heat, letting them cook for about 6 minutes per side.
- In a heated cast iron skillet, quickly warm the deli pepperoni slices, cooking each side for roughly 1 to 1.5 minutes.
- After the first side of patties is done, flip them and keep grilling for 2 more minutes. Layer with pizza sauce, provolone cheese, and the cooked pepperoni slices. Close the lid and let it cook another 4 minutes, then remove and place them on a cooling rack.
- Lightly toast the buns. Spread garlic mayo on each side. Add the grilled patties, then top with sautéed onions and peppers. Put the tops on and dig in.
Notes
- For an added kick, consider adding jalapeños or spicy mustard.
- Customize the veggies according to your preference.
- Ensure that the beef is cooked to your desired level of doneness.
