- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Sandwich Assembly:
- 8 thick slices sturdy bread, such as sourdough or Italian
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
- 24 thin slices pepperoni
Instructions
- In a small mixing bowl, blend softened unsalted butter, grated parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt until the mixture is uniformly combined.
- Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce or marinara sauce over 4 bread slices. Top each with an even layer of shredded mozzarella cheese and 6 slices of pepperoni. Cover with remaining bread slices to form sandwiches.
- Generously coat the outer sides of each sandwich with the prepared garlic butter mixture.
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Grill sandwiches for 3 to 4 minutes per side, pressing gently, until the bread is golden and crisp and the cheese has fully melted.
- Slice sandwiches in half and serve immediately, accompanied by extra warm marinara sauce if desired.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of pepperoni to suit your taste.
- For a vegetarian option, omit the pepperoni.
