- 4 ripe but firm pears
- 120g goat cheese (soft, crumbled)
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh thyme
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- Salt & pepper to taste
- ½ cup chopped walnuts
- 3 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp butter
- Pinch of cinnamon
- Sliced baguette, toasted
- Fresh rosemary, thyme, or oregano for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F) and line a baking tray.
- Halve the pears and gently scoop out a bit of the center to form a cavity.
- In a bowl, mix goat cheese, thyme, lemon zest, salt, and pepper.
- Fill each pear cavity generously with the goat cheese mixture.
- In a saucepan, melt butter and stir in walnuts, maple syrup, and cinnamon.
- Spoon the walnut mixture over each stuffed pear.
- Roast pears for 20–25 minutes until golden and bubbling.
- Meanwhile, toast baguette slices until crisp.
- Arrange pears on a board with toasted bread and fresh herbs.
- Serve warm with extra maple syrup on the side.

- Ensure pears are ripe but firm to maintain their shape during roasting.
- Adjust the amount of maple syrup according to your desired sweetness.
