Description

A cozy, elegant appetizer featuring tender, caramelized pears stuffed with creamy goat cheese and topped with a delicious maple-walnut drizzle.


Ingredients

  • 4 ripe but firm pears
  • 120g goat cheese (soft, crumbled)
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh thyme
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • Sliced baguette, toasted
  • Fresh rosemary, thyme, or oregano for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F) and line a baking tray.
  2. Halve the pears and gently scoop out a bit of the center to form a cavity.
  3. In a bowl, mix goat cheese, thyme, lemon zest, salt, and pepper.
  4. Fill each pear cavity generously with the goat cheese mixture.
  5. In a saucepan, melt butter and stir in walnuts, maple syrup, and cinnamon.
  6. Spoon the walnut mixture over each stuffed pear.
  7. Roast pears for 20–25 minutes until golden and bubbling.
  8. Meanwhile, toast baguette slices until crisp.
  9. Arrange pears on a board with toasted bread and fresh herbs.
  10. Serve warm with extra maple syrup on the side.
