Description
Smoked Brisket Cheesesteaks are delicious sandwiches filled with tender smoked brisket, sautéed veggies, and melted cheese, perfect for a satisfying meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups smoked brisket, sliced or shredded
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 4 hoagie rolls or sub rolls, toasted
- 8 slices provolone cheese (or your favorite melty cheese)
- Optional toppings: pickled jalapeños, hot sauce, garlic aioli, mayo
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add onions and bell peppers. Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened and slightly caramelized.
- Add the smoked brisket to the skillet and stir to combine. Cook until the meat is heated through (about 3–5 minutes). If the brisket is dry, add a splash of beef broth or water to moisten it.
- Lower the heat. Lay the cheese slices over the meat and veggie mixture. Cover the skillet with a lid or foil for a minute to melt the cheese.
- Split the toasted hoagie rolls and spoon the cheesy brisket mixture evenly into each one. Add extra toppings if desired.
Notes
- Leftover brisket works great for this recipe.
- Feel free to customize the cheese to your liking.
- Add more spice with jalapeños or hot sauce based on preference.
