Description

Smoked Brisket Cheesesteaks are delicious sandwiches filled with tender smoked brisket, sautéed veggies, and melted cheese, perfect for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups smoked brisket, sliced or shredded
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 hoagie rolls or sub rolls, toasted
  • 8 slices provolone cheese (or your favorite melty cheese)
  • Optional toppings: pickled jalapeños, hot sauce, garlic aioli, mayo

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add onions and bell peppers. Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened and slightly caramelized.
  2. Add the smoked brisket to the skillet and stir to combine. Cook until the meat is heated through (about 3–5 minutes). If the brisket is dry, add a splash of beef broth or water to moisten it.
  3. Lower the heat. Lay the cheese slices over the meat and veggie mixture. Cover the skillet with a lid or foil for a minute to melt the cheese.
  4. Split the toasted hoagie rolls and spoon the cheesy brisket mixture evenly into each one. Add extra toppings if desired.

Notes

  • Leftover brisket works great for this recipe.
  • Feel free to customize the cheese to your liking.
  • Add more spice with jalapeños or hot sauce based on preference.
