Description

Spicy Buffalo Wing Poppers are a delicious and flavorful party snack featuring jalapeño peppers stuffed with a savory chicken and cheese mixture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 large jalapeño peppers
  • 1 cup cooked, shredded chicken breast
  • 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup buffalo wing sauce, plus extra for drizzling
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons crumbled blue cheese for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives or green onions, optional

Instructions

  1. Prepare oven and baking surface: Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  2. Process jalapeño peppers: Halve the jalapeños lengthwise and remove seeds and membranes. Wear gloves for safety when handling peppers.
  3. Mix filling ingredients: In a bowl, combine shredded chicken, blue cheese, cream cheese, buffalo sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well blended.
  4. Fill pepper halves: Fill each jalapeño half generously with the chicken mixture.
  5. Arrange on baking sheet: Arrange stuffed jalapeño halves on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
  6. Bake poppers: Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, until peppers are tender and filling is bubbling.
  7. Finish and garnish: Remove from oven. Drizzle extra buffalo sauce over the poppers and sprinkle with additional blue cheese and chives or green onions.
  8. Serve: Serve warm immediately with celery sticks and additional dipping sauce if desired.

Notes

  • For less heat, remove all seeds and membranes from the jalapeños.
  • Feel free to adjust the amount of buffalo sauce to taste.
  • These poppers can be made ahead of time and reheated before serving.
