Description

A delicious and flavorful Spicy Chorizo Pizza topped with mozzarella cheese and chorizo sausage, perfect for pizza lovers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound pizza dough, store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup tomato sauce, store-bought or homemade
  • 1 to 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1020 slices of chorizo sausage, use mild or spicy
  • Olive oil, for brushing
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano, optional
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder, optional
  • Fresh basil leaves or parsley, for garnish, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you’re using a pizza stone, place it in the oven during preheating.
  2. On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness. If you have a pizza peel, transfer the rolled-out dough onto it. Otherwise, place it on a parchment paper-lined or lightly greased baking sheet.
  3. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
  4. Evenly sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  5. Distribute the chorizo slices over the cheese.
  6. Lightly brush the crust with olive oil. Sprinkle the dried oregano and garlic powder over the entire pizza for added flavor (optional).
  7. If using a pizza stone: Slide the pizza onto the stone in the oven. Bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
  8. If using a baking sheet: Place the sheet in the oven. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
  9. Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool slightly. Garnish with fresh basil leaves or parsley if desired. Slice into 8 pieces using a pizza cutter or sharp knife. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a spicier pizza, use spicy chorizo sausage.
  • Feel free to add other toppings like bell peppers or onions for extra flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
