Description

A deliciously spicy Korean ramen dish topped with grilled beef and drizzled with a creamy sauce, perfect for spice lovers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Grilled Beef:
  • 300g ribeye or sirloin steak
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp gochujang
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • For the Ramen:
  • 2 packs instant ramen noodles (discard seasoning packet)
  • 2 cups chicken or beef broth
  • 1 tbsp gochugaru
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Salt to taste
  • For the Creamy Sauce:
  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise (Kewpie preferred)
  • 1 tbsp sriracha or Korean chili sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Pinch of sugar (optional)
  • Garnishes:
  • 2 tbsp chopped green onions
  • 1 tsp toasted black sesame seeds
  • Optional: extra chili oil or gochugaru

Instructions

  1. Marinate the ribeye or sirloin steak with soy sauce, gochujang, sesame oil, brown sugar, minced garlic, and ground black pepper for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Grill the marinated steak to your desired doneness, then let it rest before slicing it thinly.
  3. In a pot, bring the chicken or beef broth to a boil, then add the instant ramen noodles and cook according to package instructions. Discard the seasoning packet.
  4. Once the noodles are cooked, stir in gochugaru, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and salt. Mix well and simmer for a couple of minutes.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together all the ingredients for the creamy sauce until smooth.
  6. To serve, place a portion of ramen in a bowl, top with sliced grilled beef, drizzle with creamy sauce, and garnish with green onions, toasted sesame seeds, and optional chili oil or gochugaru.

Notes

  • For extra crust on the beef, sear it in a hot skillet for a few minutes on each side before grilling.
  • You can adjust the spiciness by modifying the amount of gochujang and sriracha used.
  • This recipe works well with additional vegetables like bok choy or mushrooms if desired.
