Description
A festive and spooky mocktail perfect for Halloween celebrations.
Ingredients
Scale
- 16 ounces orange juice
- 8 ounces tonic water
- 2 ounces lemon juice
- 2 ounces honey
- 1 tablespoon black non-pareils crushed
- 2 drops red food coloring (optional)
- 5 drops yellow food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the orange juice, lemon juice, and honey. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
- If using food coloring, add it to the mixture while it’s simmering to achieve a spooky orange hue. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat and allow it to cool slightly.
- While the mixture is simmering, crush the black non-pareils by placing them in a plastic bag and smashing them with a meat tenderizer or a heavy object, like a can of soup.
- Spread the crushed non-pareils on a small plate. Dip the rims of your glasses into water or lemon juice, then press the rims into the crushed non-pareils to coat them with a spooky cobweb-like effect.
- Pour 4 ounces of the juice mixture into each glass.
- Top each glass with tonic water to create a fizzy finish.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your spooky, festive mocktail!
Notes
- For a sweeter mocktail, adjust the amount of honey to taste.
- Feel free to experiment with other colors for an even spookier effect.
