Description

Steak & Cheese Dirty Fry Burritos are a delicious fusion of steak, crispy fries, and melted cheese wrapped in a warm tortilla, topped with a tangy sour cream and salsa mix.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups frozen French fries
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil.
  2. Once the oil is hot, add the diced onion and sauté until it becomes translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for another 30 seconds, stirring constantly to avoid burning.
  4. Season the steak slices with salt and black pepper, then add them to the skillet.
  5. Cook the steak for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally until the steak is browned and cooked through.
  6. Remove the steak and onion mixture from the skillet and set it aside on a plate.
  7. In the same skillet, add the frozen French fries and cook according to the package instructions until they are golden and crispy.
  8. Once the fries are cooked, add the steak and onion mixture back into the skillet with the fries.
  9. Stir everything together to combine and let it cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  10. While the steak, onions, and fries are cooking, warm the flour tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave for about 10-15 seconds until they are soft and pliable.
  11. Lay the warm tortillas flat on a clean surface.
  12. Evenly distribute the steak, onion, and fries mixture onto the center of each tortilla.
  13. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese and shredded mozzarella cheese over the steak and fries mixture.
  14. Carefully fold in the sides of the tortilla and then roll it up from the bottom, securing all the ingredients inside.
  15. Heat a separate large skillet or grill pan over medium heat.
  16. Place each rolled burrito seam side down in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the tortilla is golden brown and crispy.
  17. Remove the burritos from the skillet and place them on a cutting board.
  18. In a small bowl, combine the sour cream and salsa, mixing until well combined.
  19. Slice the burritos in half and drizzle the sour cream and salsa mixture over the top.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the steak in your favorite marinade before cooking.
