Description
Steak & Cheese Dirty Fry Burritos are a delicious fusion of steak, crispy fries, and melted cheese wrapped in a warm tortilla, topped with a tangy sour cream and salsa mix.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound steak, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups frozen French fries
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup salsa
- 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil.
- Once the oil is hot, add the diced onion and sauté until it becomes translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for another 30 seconds, stirring constantly to avoid burning.
- Season the steak slices with salt and black pepper, then add them to the skillet.
- Cook the steak for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally until the steak is browned and cooked through.
- Remove the steak and onion mixture from the skillet and set it aside on a plate.
- In the same skillet, add the frozen French fries and cook according to the package instructions until they are golden and crispy.
- Once the fries are cooked, add the steak and onion mixture back into the skillet with the fries.
- Stir everything together to combine and let it cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- While the steak, onions, and fries are cooking, warm the flour tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave for about 10-15 seconds until they are soft and pliable.
- Lay the warm tortillas flat on a clean surface.
- Evenly distribute the steak, onion, and fries mixture onto the center of each tortilla.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese and shredded mozzarella cheese over the steak and fries mixture.
- Carefully fold in the sides of the tortilla and then roll it up from the bottom, securing all the ingredients inside.
- Heat a separate large skillet or grill pan over medium heat.
- Place each rolled burrito seam side down in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the tortilla is golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the burritos from the skillet and place them on a cutting board.
- In a small bowl, combine the sour cream and salsa, mixing until well combined.
- Slice the burritos in half and drizzle the sour cream and salsa mixture over the top.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the steak in your favorite marinade before cooking.
- Feel free to add additional toppings like jalapeños or avocado for added flavor.
