A delicious and easy-to-make pasta dish featuring sticky honey garlic sauce combined with savory sausage, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

- 12 oz (340 g) pasta (penne, rigatoni, or any short pasta)
- 1 lb (450 g) sausage, sliced (Italian sausage, smoked sausage, or your preferred type)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) honey
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) soy sauce (low sodium recommended)
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) chicken broth
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Start by cooking your pasta according to the package instructions. Be sure to salt the water generously. Once al dente, drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced sausage and brown on both sides for about 5-7 minutes. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Add honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar; stir well. Add chicken broth and bring to a simmer, cooking for 2-3 minutes.
- Add the browned sausage back to the skillet and stir to coat in the sauce. Simmer for about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing with the sausage and sauce. If too thick, add reserved pasta water. Stir in butter for richness.
- Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Garnish with parsley and sprinkle with grated Parmesan if desired.
Notes
- Feel free to use any type of sausage you prefer.
- Adjust the spice level by modifying or omitting red pepper flakes.
- This dish can be served immediately or stored for leftovers.
