Description

A delicious stir-fried dish combining potatoes and minced meat, seasoned to perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 450 g potatoes, peeled and cut into 2.5 cm cubes
  • 225 g ground pork or beef
  • 80 g green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 30 ml soy sauce
  • 15 ml oyster sauce
  • 8 g cornstarch
  • 15 ml vegetable oil
  • 5 ml sesame oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2.5 cm piece fresh ginger, minced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the potato cubes and simmer for 5–7 minutes until just tender but not fully cooked. Drain well and set aside.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground pork or beef and cook, stirring frequently, until evenly browned. Drain off excess fat.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and ginger. Cook for 30 seconds until aromatic.
  4. Add the drained, parboiled potatoes to the wok. Stir-fry for approximately 5 minutes until lightly golden.
  5. Add sliced green bell peppers. Stir-fry for an additional 2 minutes until just softened.
  6. In a small bowl, blend soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch until smooth. Pour the mixture over the potato and meat medley.
  7. Stir-fry for 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens and everything is evenly coated. Drizzle with sesame oil. Adjust seasoning with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes or sliced chili peppers.
  • This dish can be served with rice for a complete meal.
