Description
A refreshing blend of strawberries and citrus fruits in a brewed iced tea, perfect for summer days.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups water
- 4 black tea bags (English breakfast or Earl Grey)
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 medium orange, sliced into thin rounds
- 1 medium lemon, sliced into thin rounds
- ¼ cup honey or granulated sugar (optional, adjust to taste)
- Ice cubes, for serving
- Fresh mint leaves, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Start by boiling 4 cups of water in a medium saucepan. Once it reaches a rolling boil, remove the pan from the heat and add the black tea bags. Allow them to steep for 5 to 7 minutes.
- While the tea is steeping, prepare your fruit. Wash the strawberries, lemon, and orange thoroughly. Hull the strawberries and slice them thinly. Slice the orange and lemon into thin rounds or half-moons.
- If you’d like your iced tea to be sweetened, remove the tea bags and stir in honey or sugar while the tea is still warm. Stir until fully dissolved, then allow it to cool to room temperature.
- Once the tea is cool, transfer it to a large pitcher. Add the sliced strawberries, orange rounds, and lemon slices. Stir gently to combine.
- Cover the pitcher and place it in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to allow the fruit flavors to infuse the tea.
- When ready to serve, fill tall glasses with ice cubes. Pour the infused tea over the ice and garnish with a sprig of mint or a strawberry slice.
Notes
- For a lighter flavor, steep the tea bags for a shorter time.
- For a more intense fruity flavor, refrigerate the tea with fruit for 2 to 4 hours, or overnight.
- Adjust sweetness to taste based on personal preference.
