Description
A nutritious and delicious recipe for Strawberry Overnight Oats that provides a perfect morning boost.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt or plant-based yogurt
- 2 tablespoons chia seeds
- 1 to 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1/2 cup granola
- Additional strawberries, sliced (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium mixing bowl or mason jar, combine rolled oats, milk, Greek yogurt, chia seeds, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly until fully incorporated.
- Gently fold the sliced strawberries into the oat mixture, distributing evenly throughout.
- Cover the bowl or jar and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or overnight to allow the oats and chia seeds to absorb the liquid and achieve a creamy texture.
- In the morning, stir the overnight oats well. If the mixture appears too thick, add a splash of milk to achieve desired consistency.
- Divide the prepared overnight oats evenly between two serving bowls or jars. Top each portion with granola and additional strawberry slices if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Customize sweetness by adjusting the amount of honey or maple syrup.
- For added flavor, try using almond or coconut milk.
- This recipe can be made a few days in advance for quick breakfasts.
