Description

A delightful Sweet Condensed Milk Bread that is soft, slightly sweet, and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 1/2 cups (440 g) all-purpose flour, plus extra for dusting
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) instant yeast
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) warm milk (about 110°F/43°C)
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup (60 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) warm water

Instructions

  1. Mix the dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Mix the wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together warm milk, sweetened condensed milk, softened butter, egg, and warm water.
  3. Knead the dough: Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. First rise: Form the dough into a ball, place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1–1.5 hours.
  5. Shape the bread: Punch down the dough, divide it into 8–10 pieces, and shape each into a ball. Arrange in a greased baking pan.
  6. Second rise: Cover the pan and let the dough rise for another 30–40 minutes.
  7. Bake the bread: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C), brush the tops with egg wash, and bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • Ensure ingredients are at room temperature for better blending.
  • If using active dry yeast, proof it first with warm water and sugar.
  • On humid days, you may need more flour; on dry days, a bit more water.
  • Store baked bread in an airtight container for up to three days or freeze for longer storage.
  • Best enjoyed warm; toast leftovers for a delightful treat.
