- 1/4 cup (50 g) granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) warm milk (about 110°F/43°C)
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) sweetened condensed milk
- 1/4 cup (60 g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) warm water
Instructions
- Mix the dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
- Mix the wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together warm milk, sweetened condensed milk, softened butter, egg, and warm water.
- Knead the dough: Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- First rise: Form the dough into a ball, place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1–1.5 hours.
- Shape the bread: Punch down the dough, divide it into 8–10 pieces, and shape each into a ball. Arrange in a greased baking pan.
- Second rise: Cover the pan and let the dough rise for another 30–40 minutes.
- Bake the bread: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C), brush the tops with egg wash, and bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- Ensure ingredients are at room temperature for better blending.
- If using active dry yeast, proof it first with warm water and sugar.
- On humid days, you may need more flour; on dry days, a bit more water.
- Store baked bread in an airtight container for up to three days or freeze for longer storage.
