- 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cups Valentine M&Ms
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°. Line a 9×13 baking pan with parchment paper, if desired for easy removal, and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
- Using an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugars together until well combined.
- Add the eggs and vanilla, continuing to beat until combined.
- Add the baking soda, salt, and flour to the wet mixture, mixing slowly then increasing to medium speed until the dough comes together.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and M&Ms until evenly distributed.
- Scoop the dough into the prepared baking pan, spreading and pressing it evenly.
- Sprinkle additional M&Ms on top, pressing them down lightly into the dough.
- Bake at 350° for 20-35 minutes, checking for a set top without a wet appearance.
- Allow the bars to cool in the pan on a wire rack.
- Cut the bars, serve & enjoy!
Notes
- For gooey bars, bake for the shorter time.
- Bars continue to bake after being removed from the oven.
- Adding extra M&Ms on top enhances color and presentation.
