Description

A delightful dish of tilapia fillets topped with a smoky roasted pepper sauce, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 tilapia fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 2 red bell peppers, roasted and peeled
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup vegetable or chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and roast the red bell peppers for about 20 minutes.
  2. After roasting, steam the peppers for 10 minutes, then peel, seed, and chop them.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté the chopped onion for 4-5 minutes, then add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  4. Add the roasted peppers, broth, balsamic vinegar, smoked paprika, and oregano to the skillet, simmer for 5-7 minutes, then blend until smooth.
  5. Season tilapia fillets with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika, then sear in a skillet for 3-4 minutes on each side until cooked through.
  6. Serve the tilapia topped with the roasted pepper sauce and garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • Freshness matters; use fresh tilapia for the best flavor.
  • Don’t rush the roasting of the peppers for optimal flavor.
  • Adjust seasoning to your taste as you cook.
  • The sauce can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for a few days.
  • This dish pairs well with a light white wine or sparkling water.
