- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
- Coarse sugar or edible glitter for decoration (optional)
Instructions
- Set oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl; set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat softened butter with granulated and brown sugars until creamy.
- Add eggs one at a time to the butter mixture, beating well after each addition, then blend in vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet mixture, mixing thoroughly but without overbeating.
- Fold in semi-sweet and white chocolate chips evenly into the dough.
- Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto prepared baking sheets, spacing evenly. Optionally, sprinkle with coarse sugar or edible glitter.
- Bake in preheated oven for 9 to 11 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
- Allow cookies to cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
- Make sure the butter is softened for easier blending.
- For a festive touch, use colored sprinkles instead of edible glitter.
