Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion diced – small
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 30 ounces baked beans (TWO 15-ounce cans)
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic in a skillet over medium heat, until the beef is browned and the onions are tender. Drain any excess fat.
- Combine the cooked ground beef mixture, baked beans, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl. Mix well to combine.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading into an even layer.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- After 45 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the beans are bubbling and the top is slightly caramelized.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Feel free to add additional spices or hot sauce if you like it spicy.
- This dish can be made ahead of time and reheated.
- Serve with cornbread for a complete meal.
