Ingredients

  • 4 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a small bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk the melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla until fully combined.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir just until combined; do not overmix.
  6. Spread half of the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  7. Arrange the sliced bananas over the batter in an even layer.
  8. Spoon dollops of the cream cheese over the bananas, then gently spread the remaining batter on top.
  9. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
