Description

These Banana Donut Holes are a guilt-free treat that combines the deliciousness of baked donuts with the health benefits of bananas.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup Banana (1 large banana)
  • 3/4 cup Self-Rising Flour (note 1)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup Unrefined Sugar (note 2)
  • 2 tablespoons Coconut Oil (melted, or melted vegan butter)
  • 23 teaspoon Melted Coconut Oil

Instructions

  1. Mash the banana into a smooth puree, ensuring to get 1/2 cup, or the donut batter won’t come together properly.
  2. Add in the flour and initially stir with a rubber spatula until lumps form. Then, oil your hands and knead the mixture to form a dough ball, ensuring it remains sticky and moist but not overly floured.
  3. Grease your hands with melted coconut oil, scoop about a tablespoon of dough, roll it into a ball, and place it on a plate lined with parchment paper. Repeat until all dough is shaped.
  4. Spray avocado oil on top of the dough balls.
  5. Spray oil in the air fryer basket and arrange the donut holes leaving 1 inch (3 cm) between them.
  6. Air fry at 350°F (180°C) for 6-7 minutes or until they are puffy and golden brown.
  7. Brush each warm ball with melted coconut oil using a pastry brush, then roll them into cinnamon sugar to coat.
  8. Serve warm immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust flour as needed to achieve the right dough consistency.
  • The dough will be sticky, so using oil on your hands helps in rolling the balls.
  • Donut holes may not all be perfectly round; this is normal.
