Description
These Banana Donut Holes are a guilt-free treat that combines the deliciousness of baked donuts with the health benefits of bananas.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup Banana (1 large banana)
- 3/4 cup Self-Rising Flour (note 1)
- 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/4 cup Unrefined Sugar (note 2)
- 2 tablespoons Coconut Oil (melted, or melted vegan butter)
- 2–3 teaspoon Melted Coconut Oil
Instructions
- Mash the banana into a smooth puree, ensuring to get 1/2 cup, or the donut batter won’t come together properly.
- Add in the flour and initially stir with a rubber spatula until lumps form. Then, oil your hands and knead the mixture to form a dough ball, ensuring it remains sticky and moist but not overly floured.
- Grease your hands with melted coconut oil, scoop about a tablespoon of dough, roll it into a ball, and place it on a plate lined with parchment paper. Repeat until all dough is shaped.
- Spray avocado oil on top of the dough balls.
- Spray oil in the air fryer basket and arrange the donut holes leaving 1 inch (3 cm) between them.
- Air fry at 350°F (180°C) for 6-7 minutes or until they are puffy and golden brown.
- Brush each warm ball with melted coconut oil using a pastry brush, then roll them into cinnamon sugar to coat.
- Serve warm immediately.
Notes
- Adjust flour as needed to achieve the right dough consistency.
- The dough will be sticky, so using oil on your hands helps in rolling the balls.
- Donut holes may not all be perfectly round; this is normal.
