Description

Hearty Beef and Macaroni Casserole


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup elbow macaroni
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet, cooking until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  5. Add the elbow macaroni to the skillet, stirring to combine. Cover and cook for about 10 minutes, or until the macaroni is tender, stirring occasionally.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
